Ruby Catherine Farnsworth Jack

Ruby Catherine passed away Friday, May 21, 2004, at home in Kirtland, with her family by her side. She was born Oct. 9, 1920, in Atlanta, Ga. to Ruby Isabel and John W Whitton.
She grew up in Brooklyn, N.Y. and Columbus, Ga. After working at Fort Benning sewing parachutes during World War II, she came west to Kirtland in 1946, where she and Rex Farnsworth raised their family. She was a valued member of the community and received a State Canning Award and the Distinguished Family Award.
She is survived by her loving husband, U. Earl Jack; one sister, Jean Miller of Atlanta, Ga.; two brothers, George Whitton of Athens, Ga., and Robert Whitton of Atlanta, Ga.; nine sons and daughters, Catherine Jane Entihar of Allison, Colo., Ruby Louise Nygren and husband, Joseph, of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; Linda Jo Turner and husband, Thomas, of Yuma, Ariz., Lorraine Tea and husband, Randall, of American Fork, Utah, Merl Farnsworth and wife, Beth, of Farmington, Verl Farnsworth and wife, Barbara, of Phoenix, Ariz., Rex Neal Farnsworth and wife, Sherri, of Aztec, Anna Lynn Andrews and husband, George, of Saratoga Springs, Utah, and Elva Lee Holden and husband, Stanley, of Edgewood. She is also survived by 77 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Her parents, her sister, Jackie, and her daughter, Maudie, preceded her in death.
Viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., in the chapel prior to the services.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 29, 2004, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1st Ward building, 473 Road 6100 in Kirtland. She will be laid to rest in the Kirtland-Fruitland Cemetery in Kirtland.
