Southern Christian Advocate 17 Sept 1852; page 64; column 3

The Rev. NATHAN HARRISON was born in N. C., on the 20th of Oct., 1778. After his marriage he removed to Buncombe and remained there about 36 years. Professed religion in the latter part of August 1803, and travelled (sic) several years under the P. Elder in the Holston Conference, and also in the Georgia Conference after he removed to Murray co. He died on the 18th of July last. He was a simple, plain and practical preacher, full of zeal and faith, a truly Christian spirit, occupying and directing a sanctified heart. Although he was aged and feeble, it was his privilege to occupy the last Sabbath of his life in the exercise of his ministerial office at the house of God. His sufferings were short: he had served his generation according to the will of God, and full of peace and joy, he passed across Jordan's stream to Canaan's land. He was a cousin, as I learn, of Gen'l Harrison, late President of the United States. He has left a considerable family connection, saying to the and to all, follow me as I have followed Christ.
