Ruddie McMurrian, of Floydada died July 1, 2009, at his residence. Services will be 10:30 a.m. today at Trinity Assembly Church. Moore-Rose Funeral Home of Floydada.

Ruddie L. McMurrian FLOYDADA - Ruddie McMurrian, 59, died at home Wednesday, July 1, 2009, after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2009, at Trinity Church in Floydada with the Rev. Vance Mitchell officiating. Interment with follow in Floydada Cemetery by Moore-Rose Funeral Home of Floydada. Mr. McMurrian was born Aug. 2, 1949, in Nashville, Ark., to Cora and Charlie McMurrian. As a child, the family traveled the states picking fruit and vegetable crops. About 1960, the family settled in this area. In 1988 he moved to Floydada where he married Janis Ellis. They worked together at Subway. He served in the Navy from 1969-70. He is survived by his wife, Jan; three daughters and a son-in-law, Quetha and Shane Derryberry of Idalou, Kayla Knight of Washington and DeeDee Bodine of Gun Barrel City; one son and daughter-in-law, Don Dewayne and Angela Reeve of Canyon; three brothers, Donald and Wanda McMurrian of Napa, Idaho, Larry and Barbara McMurrian of Plainview and Benny and Debbie McMurrian of Fruitland, Idaho; one sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Terry Dugan of North Bend, Ore.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Lee McMurrian; his mother, Cora Lee Weems McMurrian; and his father, Charlie Allison McMurrian. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or Seth Ward Baptist Church of Plainview.

Ruddie L. McMurrian, 59, of Floydada, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at his home.
Family greeted friends from 7-8 p.m., Sunday, July 5, 2009 at the Moore-Rose Funeral Home
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 6, 2009 at the Trinity Assembly Church. Pastor Vance Mitchell officiated. Burial followed at the Floydada Cemetery under the direction of Moore-Rose Funeral Home of Floydada.
Ruddie L. McMurrian was born on August 2, 1949 in Nashville, Arkansas to Charlie Allison McMurrian and Cora Lee Weems. Ruddie married Janis Ellis on July 5, 1988 in Plainview. Ruddie was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the US Navy from 1969-1973. Ruddie loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing. He loved life, and cherished his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a nephew, Bennie McMurrian and a brother, Charles McMurrian.
He is survived by his wife Janis McMurrian of Floydada; and his children, Quetha Derryberry of Idalou, Dewayne Reeve of Canyon, Daniel McMurrian of Amarillo, Kayla Knight of Washington, Deana Bodine of Gun Barrel City, and Lyle Rushing of Plainview; three brothers, Bennie McMurrian and Donald McMurrian both of Idaho, and Larry McMurrian of Plainview; a sister, Judy Dugan of Oregon; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
